Grant requests

The G.C. Murphy Co.® Foundation does not make grants to individuals.

Generally speaking, the G.C. Murphy Co.® Foundation does not make grants to religious organizations for worship or proselytizing; the Foundation will consider grant requests from faith-based organizations if the project for which they are requesting support is provided for secular purposes to serve everyone in a community without regard for creed or religious beliefs.

The G.C. Murphy Co.® Foundation generally restricts its grants to organizations that primarily serve the McKeesport and Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, areas, or which are proposing a project that will primarily serve the McKeesport and Allegheny County areas.

All grantees must be non-profit organizations recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as “tax-exempt.”

Grants are considered on a first-come, first-served basis and are awarded three times per year. To be considered, an organization should submit its grant request on its own letterhead, along with a copy of its IRS tax-exempt determination letter, a detailed description of the project, and any supporting documentation.

Grant requests should be sent to:
